Like a lot of artists, Joy found herself drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil. Getting her Bachelor’s degree at At San Jose State University, she was trained as an illustrator and animator and when she grew up, decided to give it a go in the illustration industry. Well, she’s never truly grown up which lead her to her love of working in the children’s illustration market. Joy has a few published illustrations under her belt: a recipe in the “They Draw & Cook” cook book, some magazine illustrations and a children’s picture book she did long, long ago. She currently has some board books in the works! Her muse is a miniature, red, short haired Dachshund who within the last year was joined by a small, human boy.
